Cyrus Behn

Cyrus Behn lives in a wooden house on a ridge in Mendocino County, five miles past the last paved road. The kitchen faces west. The books near the window have all faded to the same pale green, whatever color they started as.

He was born in a country that is no longer entirely a country to him, and grew up in a language that was not English. He came to fiction in his thirties, after a long career doing something else, which he does not talk about.

He is the author of The Terms and I’m Not the Kind of Woman Who Traps a Man, and is at work on a third novel. He drinks his coffee black, walks a six-mile loop every morning before writing, and has never had a photograph taken of himself he could recognize as himself.
